Description:: Photograph of the former River Station depot for the Southern Pacific Railroad, viewed from across some railroad tracks, the day before its scheduled demolition. Two sets of railroad tracks stretch across the foreground on an upward angle from right to left. Beyond the tracks, North Spring Street (formerly San Fernando Road) runs parallel to the tracks in the mid-ground. The old depot building stands in the near distance at center and is viewed at a slight angle from the front. A car drives past the right front corner of the building. The front of the building faces left. It is lined by arched doorways and windows. An entablature stretches above it and standing atop the building is a flagpole. Sotello Street stretches back into the image along the right edge.
