Description:: The Hotel Windemere was located at 1431 Ocean Ave. Built in 1909, it was demolished in 1962. John Lindsay, a southern California architect, owned the building from at least 1954 until its demolition. According to newspaper reports from 1954 to 1956, he and Jane Wooster Scott were a couple.
