Description:
An unidentified young man or boy stands by an automobile parked outside the entrance to the Sutro Tunnel in Virginia City, Nevada. The door is propped open by a small barrel, but the entrance is blocked by metal bars. The young man is wearing a newsboy cap and overalls and has his left arm bent and left hand resting on his hip.

John Factor, aka Jake the Barber, con man and gangster, 1936

Description:
John Factor, aka Jake the Barber, born Iakow Factrowitz, was once a West Side Chicago barber who became a gangster and a con artist and swindled English citizens out of $7-8 million. While fighting extradition to England, Factor was kidnapped by Chicago gangsters and held for ransom. After the kidnapping trial, he moved to Los Angeles. He was the half brother of cosmetics founder, Max Factor.
