- Movie-house owner Alexander Pantages was accused of rape by dancer Eunice Pringle. The sensational 1929 Pantages trial included perjurious testimony by Garland Biffle, a law-book salesman. Biffle and his wife Floy Biffle were the only witnesses called by the defense.
