Both George Corwin and Robert T. Brain stand along the wooden rail of the pier. George Corwin stands at left and looks to the camera while he holds a fishing rod. Robert T. Brain stands at right and looks to the camera as well. An unidentified man stands behind and to the right of Robert. His back is to the camera as he looks over the edge of the pier. In the background, the ocean extends behind them at left and center and the coastline stretches into the distance at right.
Photograph taken aboard an unidentified battleship visited by H. H. West and others just off-shore in Santa Monica. A man wearing a hat and with a hand in his pocket peeks into the frame from the left. Two large gun turrets are behind him and sit at the center of the photograph. To either side of that, there are two more, smaller, turrets. Atop the 2 large turrets at center, there is the ship's bridge. Visitors stand at a railing on top of the bridge amidst large guns that face outward to the right and left. On the deck, a uniformed naval serviceman approaches the large gun turrets from the left. Two women in dresses stand to the right of the large turrets. On the far right, a lifeboat hangs off the side of the ship.
Photograph, from left to right, of Ellen Lorene "Pinkie" Lemberger, Mertie Whitaker and Nella West standing on a pier at Santa Monica's North Beach while holding onto their hats. The pier spans the foreground and stretches back on an upward angle from the lower right corner towards the left. The women stand in a semi-circle on the pier, left-of-center. Pinkie Lemberger stands at left and faces towards the right. She places a hand to her hat. Mertie Whitaker stands at center and further back from the camera. She smiles to the camera as she places both hands behind her head. At right, Nella West stands in profile, facing left. She too raises a hand to her hat. The beach on the south side of the pier sprawls behind them in the distance at right. Nearest to camera, ocean waves roll onto the shore. The beach stretches horizontally across the image at right. Sitting back from the water at right, the Arcadia Hotel stands.

Newspapers lie flat on the right side of the sofa. Walls at center and right are covered in pictures and artwork. A wide, open doorway is at left through which another room is visible.
Photograph, from left to right, of Charles Miles and Guy M. West standing in a deep sea bait boat and reeling in a fish, either yellow tail or sea bass, off the coast near Ocean Park. Charles Miles stands at center and holds onto a fishing line with both hands. A fish just reeled in sways from one end of the line. To Charles' right, Guy West looks on as he leans back. Both men face the camera. In front of them, crates and tarps lie in a row across the boat. At right, it seems like a man's shoulder obscures some of the image. The side of another person's body does the same at left. The ocean expands behind the scene and into the distance.

Per the negative sleeve caption, this photograph was taken in 1910, the same year that Chester Schmitz was born. He looks considerably older than that, maybe about 5 or 6, in this photograph. The other children also look older than what their age would be in 1910. It is more likely that this image was taken around 1915.
