"Bohème" production, Act 2, Barnum Hall, Santa Monica, 1955

- Opera singers performing in a production of Giacomo Puccini’s, La Bohème. The cast, in period costume, take up the stage. Barbara Ludwig, in the role of Musetta, performs center-stage. A man likely portraying Alcindoro sits to her left and watches. The remaining characters watch from a table at stage left. A painted backdrop and set props recreate the Café Momus and adjoining buildings. The exterior set also includes a table and chairs (the table set with bottles and glasses), hanging lanterns, and a poster advertising “livres-musique.” Microphones and an amplifier can be viewed at the stage’s edge; the entire stage, orchestra pit and rows of audience members viewed from balcony. Performed at Barnum Hall, Santa Monica.
