Durant was first and received $4000; Hearne, second, won $2500; Le Cocq, third, $1500, and Pullen, fourth, $1000. Durant's average speed was 81.88 miles an hour for the 250 miles of the course. That was considered, the paper said, a splendid record for the new course.
