Description:
F. E. Olds was a manufacturer of musical instruments founded by Frank Ellsworth Olds in Los Angeles, in the early 1900s. The company made brass instruments, especially trombones, cornets, and trumpets. Olds was joined by his son Reginald Birdsall (R.B.) Olds in 1920. The company was purchased by Chicago Musical Instruments after World War II, and went out of business in 1979.

Description:
View of the Ada E. Bowers Memorial Fountain in the courtyard of the Bowers Museum, with a statue of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, discoverer of California, and bas-relief scenes behind the statue and along the base of the fountain. To the left of Cabrillo is a rocky formation from which water issues. Behind Cabrillo are 3 scenes including Cabrillo and companions facing Indians on the sea shore with a ship in the ocean in the distance, a mission church, and Indians in a wooden carat (carretta) drawn by oxen. At the base are 8 bas-relief scenes apparently depicting episodes from the mission era and later settlement by ranchers and farmers. A plaque in the center bears the text "Mrs. Bowers Memorial Fountain."

Don Shaw was a musician who played in different bands in the Los Angeles area, including "The Don Shaw Trio," and "Don Shaw and The Ranch Hands."

Article titled, "British Blitkrieg Dreamed Years Ago," Evening Outlook, undated. The article discusses a sketch depicting German paratroopers invading an English port. The sketch was originally published in the German magazine, "Ueber Land und Meer" in 1895. An additional sketch illustrates a similar plan of attack devised by Napoleon in 1804 - though his plot involved creating a tunnel under the English channel through which soldiers would march.
