- Photograph of Avalon Bay, as viewed from the approaching S. S. Catalina. Passengers on the ferry stand in the foreground as they cluster together on a deck to view their approach. They stand with their backs to the camera and in a rough line that extends back to the left. Beyond them, Avalon Bay sits at right and stretches to the left. Several boats are visible in the water. Catalina Island and Avalon occupy the distant shoreline. Catalina Casino stands in the distance along the right edge.
