- H. H. West's parents and daughters sit in the parlor of the West's house. Mrs. West sits in the rocking chair. Frances West sits on the wooden stool and is visible in profile. Elizabeth West can be seen facing forward. The girls may be playing jacks on the table. Mr. West reads a book and wears a hat and glasses. There is another rocking chair at the right. Two paintings hang from the walls and there are two windows in the room, both covered with curtains.
