The theme of the 1936 forty-seventh annual Rose Parade was "History in Flowers."
View of a float illustrating the tale of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree, submitted by the Pasadena Junior and Senior Chambers of Commerce. Behind the tree is Jack Burzell, dressed as the boy George Washington, and behind him is a round cameo-type portrait of Washington executed in flowers. The float is seen passing the Goodhue Flagpole in the center of the intersection of Orange Grove Blvd. and Colorado Blvd.
