- Letter purported to have been written by William F. Gettle during his five-day kidnapping ordeal. The letter was likely sent to attorney Ernest E. Noon, who acted as intermediary between the family and the kidnappers. Noon was preparing to deliver $75,000 in ransom money to the kidnappers before they were captured in a separate bank robbery sting.
