The aftermath of a fire in Lancaster, taken just above a ruined building. A Union Service Station stands across the street unharmed. Signs on buildings read: “Firestone,” Union Service Station,” “Stop Wear Lubrication Service,” "Stop Wear Lubrication…Batteries…Tires…Union Tire Shop," "Sales and Service... Roy D. Lank" [name of business painted between a Frigidaire logo comprised of a crest topped with a crown and set with 'G' and 'M' initials, and a logo for Graybar comprised of a banner with a diagonal line above the word, 'Quality'; address “1020” over door]; "A.C. Meyer Co" [painted alongside GE (General Electric) logo]. Street signs read: “Boulevard Stop,” “7 State Highway,” “Palmdale 8 ½, Los Angeles 80, Rosamond 11 ½, Mojave 25.”
