Writer W. R. Burnett, his first wife, Marjorie, and War Cry, the greyhound. Burnett was donating the trophy for best dog in the show to the Glendale Kennel Club dog show. There is another dog visible behind a fence in the background. War Cry wears a collar that reads, in part, "WAR."
