Peggy Caffee was a witness to the murder of Alberta Meadows, 19, who was killed by Clara Phillips, 28 years old, in July 1922. Philips believed Meadows was having an affair with Philips' husband. She was convicted of the murder and sent to San Quentin Prison. She was paroled in 1935.
