Anagnosti leans against a desk, holding a cigarette in one hand. The figure of another man can be seen in the background, his head cut off by the picture's frame.
Anagnosti has been apprehended by Federal officers and escorted from Egypt back to Los Angeles after spending four years on the run from a sentence for misuse of the mails. He had been convicted in United States District Judge Killitt's court on February 14, 1931 and fled before the passing of his appeal.
