View of ground-level of the old Norton Building on Sixth Street and Broadway in the aftermath of a fire. Bystanders watch fire crews work with fire fighting equipment such as water hoses. The ground-floor windows are blown out, and the mostly intact displays include clothed mannequins and other merchandise. Burnt debris is strewn across the wet street. An acetylene tank had exploded on a scaffolding outside the Norton Building. It was being used for exterior remodeling the structure was undergoing. The building caught fire and fire crews were brought in to contain the damage.
