Young actresses Betty Burgess and Olympe Bradna shake hands while holding their film studio contracts. One girl wears a striped blouse while the other a light-colored dress. The article was commenting on how young female movie performers such as Burgess and Bradna no longer needed chaperons to accompany them while on set. Whereas the previous generational trend was to constantly have a female chaperon on hand, especially mothers.
