Dates on negative sleeve do not correspond with newspaper caption, which dates the event to August 3, 1935.
A similar photograph taken on the same occasion appears with the article, “Trio Injured in Crash,” Los Angeles Times, 4 Aug 1935: 1.
Spectators gather to watch the wreckage of a downed plane at 5715 Van Ness Avenue. Firemen and police administered first aid to the three injured occupants before sending them to hospital. The plane landed on the front lawn of a residential home in a densely populated neighborhood.
