A grinning Goebel climbs atop his monoplane and waves his hat over his head.
Art Goebel arrives at Mines Field 23 hours and 50 minutes after he left Roosevelt Field, New York, flying in the non-stop trans-continental air race. Goebel landed in Phoenix, Arizona for gas, even though the race was supposed to be non-stop.
