A different photograph of the same section of the flood-damaged community is captioned, "Left--Community Center in Little Santa Anita Canyon after the flood had passed," Los Angeles Times: 09 Apr. 1926: A12
A similar photograph of damage from the same flood appears with the article, "THREE DIE IN SEA LASHED BY RETREATING STORM: Santa Monica Rescue Efforts Fail; Deluge Sweeps Canyon Colony; More Bridges Washed Out," Los Angeles Times, 09 Apr. 1926: A1
Across the bottom edge, rocks and branches lie atop a thick layer of mud. At center, a pickup truck sits trapped in the mud. It is viewed from the side and faces left. Mud rises almost as high as the rear wheel and completely covers the front wheel. Mud also appears to occupy the truck bed. A branch and other debris lie on the passenger seats. At right and behind the truck bed, a young man stands. He rests his hands in his pockets as he looks down at the vehicle. Behind and to the left of the truck, a wooden building stands. It stretches back towards a pavilion that stands in the distance at center. Another building stands in the distance at right.
A photograph of damage from the same flood appears as part of the photo spread titled, "Little Santa Anita Canyon Flood Victim; Traffic Bridges Out," Los Angeles Times, 09 Apr. 1926: A12
