Betty Wang (her Americanized name) was a Chinese journalist who graduated from Shanghai University, worked as a reporter for a daily Chinese newspaper before attending the University of Southern California as a graduate student in journalism in 1933-1934. While in Los Angeles she became a member of the Theta Sigma Phi national honorary and professional journalism sorority and worked as a technical expert on "The Good Earth" at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; she appears in Harry Carr's "Lancer" feature 3 times. In 1934 she became editor of the women's page editor of the China Press newspaper in Shanghai in 1934. Ms. Wang published 2 articles in the Los Angeles Times: Ms. Wang published 2 articles in the Los Angeles Times: "We China Dolls are Free!" 6/3/1934" and "Mass Marriage in Shanghai" 11/24/1935.
