A runway at the Grand Central Air Terminal stretches across the foreground. In the near distance at center, the TWA aircraft, City of Los Angeles, sits in front of the terminal. It is viewed at an angle from the front with its starboard side nearest to camera; it faces slightly right. On the nose of the plane, it reads, "TWA[...]," and on the bottom of the wing at left, it reads, "TWA." Beyond the plane, the Grand Central Airport's terminal enters frame at right and stretches back on an angle towards center. Its tower rises, right-of-center, behind the aircraft. A large crowd gathers between the terminal and the aircraft. Barricades line the near side of crowd. Several men dressed in white stand beneath the port wing of the aircraft.
