The Patterson Field track at Occidental College occupies the bottom half of the image and stretches back on an angle to the left. In the mid-ground at left, several runners sprint towards the camera and to the finish line. Nearest to camera, and first to the tape, is Don Plumb of Pomona College. He raises both arms in the air as his chest meets the tape. Following behind him at left and right are Occidental College runners, Sid Todd and Ivan Belman. Meet officials stand at far right along the outer edge of the track. Crowded stands occupy the background at center and left.
